Summer 2019 "Seeing White" podcast Discussion Group

Use the discussion board below to engage in our Summer 2019 discussion online. See below for more details on how to participate.
In collaboration with the Caucus of Working Educators and Teacher Action Group here in Philadelphia, we are hosting a summer podcast series to engage with the history and fallout of the idea of whiteness so as to develop a more critical social awareness of how it plays out in our schools and society today. We have selected the series, “Seeing White” from Scene on Radio. You can listen to all of the episodes at the site or wherever you stream your podcasts.
During this summer reading (listening) series, we’ll be sending more frequent updates to a Google Group. If you’re joining us to listen to “Seeing White,” please sign up using this form. Otherwise, expect monthly updates through this email list.
Beginning this week, there will be two ways to participate. You will be able to do one or both of them!
  1. Online Episodes Discussion Forum: Follow the listening schedule below. Then, for each “Part” or episode, there is a discussion thread with a question for you to post a response and interact with other listeners of the podcast.
  2. In-Person Group Discussions at Philadelphia’s Independence Branch Free Library: Pace yourself with the same weekly listening schedule, and come prepared to discuss the episodes at four meetup times.
